MAY I 2022

Faced with the return of war to Europe and the influx of Ukrainian refugees into Western Europe, Colisée and its teams have committed to welcoming families and participating in the surge of solidarity towards the more than 5.2 million Ukrainians who have had to flee their country.

W hat we thought was unthinkable or at least a thing of the past has eventually happened: war has resurfaced, from the depths of history, on European soil.

Jumping from one crisis to another, this 21st century seems to spare us none. But why, you may ask, should such a subject be addressed in the newsletter of a company dedicated to the social and health care of the frail elderly people?

The international context and the war affect us all, with no distinction between citizens and professionals, between young and old, between French, Belgians, Italians, Spaniards or Ukrainians.

And then, as anyone familiar with our articles will know, Colisée has chosen to align its actions with the major issues of our time. By becoming a mission-driven company, we wanted to be involved in the transitions that will shape tomorrow's society: beyond the demographic, digital and ecological challenges, Europe is at the heart of our priorities.

Colisée in solidarity with Ukrainian refugees

Since February 24, date of the beginning of the Russian intervention in Ukraine, more than 5.2 million refugees have fled to neighboring countries, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Faced with this situation, it is impossible to stand idly by. Therefore, Colisée's teams responded.

In Belgium, France and Spain, more than 100 families have been welcomed in our service flats and our EHPADs. Many establishments are also collecting health and toilet supplies as well as food.

Of course, all this is only a drop in an ocean of needs. But I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the teams who work hard every day to welcome these people with dignity. We hope to expand the movement, particularly in Italy.

Because at the end of the day, this is what our cause is all about: supporting those who, at a given moment, because of their age, their health status or as in this case because of the madness of men, find themselves in a situation of fragility.
