MINISTRY OF HEALTH INVESTIGATES...

Since 1985, the French Ministry of Health's Directorate of Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics (French acronym DREES) has been conducting a major survey on residential care homes for the elderly in France. This survey, known as the "EHPA" survey, is now published every five years. The most recent one, based on consolidated data as at 31 December 2019, was published in July and provides a fascinating “radioscopy” of French medicalized nursing homes known under the acronym EHPADs (Etablissement d’Hébergement pour Personnes Agées Dépendantes).
